LEO STOPFER THE PAINTER OF THE BALLET-STARS

Austrian Artist Leo Stopfer is widely acclaimend as the  „Painter of the Ballet-Stars“. Fascinated by the beautty of classical Dance, he made the ballet one of the main themes of his art, cooperating with many outstanding dancers for many years. Leo Stopfer’s paintings are a new look at the nature of human movements and the world of Dance.

Among his models are such grandees of the world ballet scene  as Italian dancer Alessandra Ferri (a former Principal of The Royal Ballet), Evgenia Obraztsova (Bolshoi Theatre), Valdimir Malakhov (State Ballet of Berlin), Maria Abashova (Ballet Theater of Boris Eifman), Olga Smirnova (Bolshoi Theatre), Maria Yakovleva (Vienna State Ballet), Julie Kent (ABT New York), Ulyana Lopatkina (Mariinsky Theatre) as well as stars of the French ballet Isabelle Ciaravola and Ludmila Pagliero (The Paris National Opera).
